What are the requirements for smart charging?

Smart Charging with tado° works with either a compatible electric vehicle, a compatible charger or a combination of both. Compatible with chargers from Zaptec, easee, and Wallbox.

Is my electric vehicle supported by the tado° Smart Charging app?

Once you have downloaded the tado° Smart Charging app, you will be prompted to connect your electric car. You can find an overview of all compatible car brands further up on this website.

In which countries can I use the tado° Smart Charging app?

The tado° Smart Charging app is currently available in the following countries: Germany, Switzerland, Austria, UK, the Netherlands, France, Italy and Spain.

When can I save with the tado° Smart Charging app?

As soon as you connect your electric car or charging station to the tado° Smart Charging App, you can start saving based on your dynamic energy contract. Once you have set your tariffs and times in the tado° app, we optimise your charging plan to charge as much as possible at the cheapest tariffs. After each charging session, you will receive an estimate of how much you have saved on your electricity bill.
